上一章的后半段
开头是维维的噩梦,建议两章一起读
这一篇是糖!真的(迫真)!
I was wandering off to nowhere in a foggy forest, when I saw a black dot infront of me. I managed to get closer and closer to the black dot, and it expanded, from a dot to a square, and from a square to a carriage. The carriage halted infront of me, and the door was flung open. Out came a person dressed in all black. The physique looked familiar, but I could not remember where I had seen it. The figure had a tricorn, a volto mask, a black cloak and black heels. I was tempted to take off this figure's mask, but I was scared. The figure, having noticed me, turned towards my direction and walked to me. The figure looked like it floated towards me rather than walked. I tried backing up but (out of fear) I was too stiff and fell to the ground. My left hand was out of control from me and I took off the figure's mask when it got close-it resembled someone I knew. No, it couldn't be Tomaso, because the figure had black hair draping off its shoulders. It smiled like the Cheshire cat towards me, and grabbed on to my wrist, lifting me from the ground. I was cold-sweating, and as the figure came vis-a-vis with me, I felt my heart beat faster and my breathing became more difficult. Then, it spoke:
`Would you rather stay in Christiandom or flee to Africa?'
This voice...so familiar as well...Lucrezia Fabris!
`I will stay.' I whispered. Then the grip became tighter and I thought my wrist was about to snap.
`Antonio, Antonio get up!' I heard Tomaso call, but I couldn't see him.
`Antonio...' The voice became faint, and disappeared.
`Stay?' The figure lifted her eyebrow, and pulled me even closer to her. I nodded to her question, and later, the fog around us disappeared, and I found out we were standing at a cliff.
`The nightingale shall die if he doesn't follow the trend.' She said, and pushed me off the cliff.
`Antonio!'
I woke up suddenly, at the sound of a thunderstorm. Tomaso was sitting by the bed gazing tenderly at me while placing a wet towel on my forehead.
`I called you several times during the last hour, you were screaming in your dream, also you were sweating by a lot and your body temperature was rising. I thought I needed to wake you up before something terrible happens.' He cuddled me and stroked my arm. I have just recovered from that nightmare, and lied back (fell) on his arms heavily, trying to clear my mind.
`What's the matter?' He looked at me worriedly.
I shook my head, trying to hold back my tears. I felt uneasy, as my head felt heavier than usual, and my eyes felt like they were going to burst any moment. I continued to shiver in his cuddle, and I felt dizzy.
`I'm going to get some more cold water for you, this bowl's turned a little warm.' Tomaso got up, and turned towards the door. I grabbed on to his banyan, but soon let go because I didn't have the energy to hold on anymore.
`Alright I'll stay with you.' He said, and sat by his bed.
`Tomaso?' I said weakly, and looked at him.
`Hmm?'
`Please don't leave me.' I was sobbing.
`I won't. I promise I won't.' He held on to my hand and rubbed my cheeks with a handkerchief.
`Why's your hand so cold?'
I shook my head.
He sighed.
`Sing me an aria?' I pleaded him.
`What would you like for me to sing?' He embraced me and gently stroke my back.
`Anything.' I closed my eyes out of fatigue.
`S'il mio penar
Se il sospirar
Bendato Amor, t'è grato~
Concedi almen
Che del mio ben
Non provi il cor ingrato~'
`No, sing me a nice one. This aria is sad.'
`The tune is a happy one.'
`But I never show an ungrateful heart, and I shall not allow you to sigh and shed tears.' It thundered again, and I shoved myself even closer to him.
`You figured it out.'
I nodded.
`Placido in letto ombroso
Là dove scorre il rio
Steso sul maego ombroso
De l'onda al mormorio,
Il canto accorderò~
Condur il gregge amato
Sola mia cura fia
Dalla capanna al prato
E in onta a sorte ria
Contento viverò
Contento goderò~'
I smiled at him, because this really made me feel content. But I felt even more dizzy and my breathing became more difficult as well, and I thought I was going to die that night.
`Tomaso, I...I would like to leave my last words...'
`What, you must be joking.'
`I might die tonight...'
`No you won't! It's just your body temperature rising! You won't die, trust me!' He clung on to me tighter.
`I wanted to say...I've never hated you for anything...and that we'll never forget each other...and...and...'
`And what? Speak, you idiot who called mandarin ducks birds!'
`I apologise for what I've said when we were in Florence, and I never saw you as a traitor or fraud...'
`I've worked so hard to become a virtuoso in the 12 years when we didn't get to meet, just incase I had the chance to play one of your sonatas, or if we could meet at a competition or something.' I started panting after I finished.
`I never knew what I've said to you at Florence has been so hurtful, and I plead for your forgiveness.'
`The last thing, is that, if I will go to purgatory tonight I wish for you to have fun, go pursue your dreams and enjoy life-'
`I would follow you, like what Othello did.' He whispered. I felt a teardrop on my cheeks, and raised my hand to dry his tears, but I was so exhausted I put my hand down again.
I had lost remembrance of what I've said to him later, because I might have turned insain that night. The only thing I knew was that I fell asleep again, and woke up several times, either because I was too cold or was having breathing difficulties. Each time I woke up though, Tomaso would see if I were alright, and tried to ask about how I was feeling, to which I never replied, because I thought I was about to die anyway.
The last time I woke up I had completely given up on trying to sleep. I sat up, and tried to place the wet towel on my forehead myself (Tomaso was asleep by the bed). But because I was so weak, I knocked off the bowl by mistake, breaking it and spilling that ice water all over my poor friend. I thought I might get beaten up again, but he just came over and asked how I was feeling.
`I don't feel like sleeping anymore.' I looked down at the quilt, and stroked my hair.
`It's 6am, you're sure?'
I nodded.
`Well, you do look a little better than last night.'
`What even happened last night...' I rested my head on my hands, trying to remember what had happened.
`Lovely things.' He smirked, and winked at me.
`You call having a nightmare lovely?' I tried to raise my fist to punch him, but he grabbed on to it and held it.
`Your hands are still pretty cold...'
`Ehh. At least I'm not feeling dizzy right now.'
`Do you know what you've said to me yesterday?' He was grinning by now...like a cheshire cat...which made me creeped out.
`What did I say...' I was a little scared, and tried to sit farther from him, except for he pulled me back...
`Ahh~'
`Did I hurt you really bad?' He stroke my wrist.
`I was only pretending.' I chuckled.
`You dishonest priest.' He left my hand alone and pinched my cheeks, `I heard you mumble something like `I would have married you if I were a girl', hmm. I think something like this.'
`No that's impossible!' I tried to get to the other side of the bed, but he grabbed me and brought me towards him...
`I was joking.' He smiled at me.
`You should get changed first.'
`Hmm.'
`What are you going to do now?' I asked Tomaso, who has dressed himself as how he was in that portrait.
`I guess you can watch me compose.'
`Compose? This early?'
`Yup. My opera Astarto and its intermezzi, Vespetta e Pimpinone will be premiered 2 months later. I have the chorus to work on and then I'm done.'
`Could I have a look at the intermezzi?'
`Sure.'
I looked at the entire piece, and said that the first aria looked really nice.
`I can sing it if you wish.'
`Will that be inconvenient?'
`Nope. It's not winter yet, I don't rely on marshmallows right now. Also I'll make you some ginger tea today, your voice sounds hoarse.'
`Thanks.' I smiled.
`My pleasure, madame.'
`What?'
`Monsieur, pardonez moi.'
Tomaso took the scores and sat by the harpsichord. He began to sing the first aria, written for the soprano: `Chi me vuol? Son cameriera.'
`Sì, sei una cameriera.'
`Antonio?'
`Yes?'
`It looks like I would have to start collecting rent after you recover.'
`I said I'll pay in love.'
`And I only accept cash.'
`Ahh come on...'
`And barter.'
`Barter?'
`You can make up for the rent by staying with me forever.'
`That's not barter, that's called slavery.' I chuckled, but coughed later.
`Oh no...' He patted my back, and gave me a cup of hot chocolate.
`Your throat must be dying now.'
`It has already been dead, since the first day I was born. I wish I had a good voice like yours.' I tilted my head and smiled at him.
`I'll go and get the honey for you. And mint as well.' Tomaso opened his door, but stepped backwards.
`See, I knew you two would stay together.' Antonino said playfully, `Oh look at the bride, lying in such an elegant posture on your bed, and the groom...ouch! Why did you hit me!'
`Why are you being so loud when someone's really sick?'
`Hmm...Looks like some one cares about his bride's health more than how I've showed up at your house ehh?'
`Antonino...' Tomaso looked at the ground with his cheeks rouge.
`I'm here because Tomaso said I'm the best violinist in Venice and can only stay in his bedroom, right?' I smiled confidently at the two of them.
`I'm just glad that you look healthier than yesterday.' Tomaso came to cuddle me.
`Well, I've just come to check up to see that both of you are alright, and it looks like you've resolved your misunderstandings between each other.'
`Of course we have.' I laid in Tomaso's arms, feeling sleepy again. Before I fell completely asleep I heard Antonino whisper `congratulations' to Tomaso and shut the door behind him.
This time I had a sweet dream, that Tomaso was able to play with me during our public performances, and we also sang duets, duets about romantic comedies...

Biffi:你们把狗骗进来杀…
